Comments & Additional Info
Marvel Knights was a series of comics that not only focused on Spider-Man but also featured other superheroes (like Daredevil, the Punisher, Black Widow, and the like) that started in the late 1990s, with the goal of making the stories more grounded and realistic. This was Marvel's attempt to save itself after the mess of convoluted storylines in the 1990s, a time when the company prioritized quantity over quality. The imprint was a massive success, and it's easy to see why—in my opinion, Mark Millar is a remarkable and very skilled writer. (Though Mark Millar's Civil War may be a bit controversial.) So if you're looking for a grittier, more realistic take on Spider-Man, this series is definitely for you.
